Nahdet Misr has collaborated with the Egyptian National S&T Information Network (ENSTINET), the American University in Cairo (AUC), and the Egyptian Development and Innovation Programme (RDI) to produce two “Dome Movies” for the Planetarium Science Center at Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The first movie, “The Mission” introduces the current debate about Pluto and whether to be considered a planet, or be removed from the solar system. The movie is an animated cartoon, targeting children from 4 to 9 years old. The second movie is the “Enlightened Mind” which highlights the great Arab scientist, Ibn El Haytham era. It also introduces his theories, with special emphasis on defining the source of light during the vision process, and the social reception of these theories.
The production of these two movies is considered a significant achievement made by Nahdet Misr being the first to produce such movies in the Middle East region.
